Studio Approach to Environmental Strategy

Shaping Vision Into Reality.

Our studio is at the early but intentional stage of embedding sustainability as a core, long-term driver of how we operate and how we design.

This commitment has been formalised through the appointment of a Head of Sustainability, Ella Fathi, who will lead the development of a strategic, studio-wide approach focused on net zero and systemic change rather than isolated reactive initiatives.

During 2026, Ella will priorities establishing a robust evidence base from which meaningful progress can be made. This will include baselining our current position, setting clear and measurable targets, and developing a sustainability roadmap that provides structure, accountability and direction for future action. This approach ensures that commitments are
informed, achievable and capable of being tracked over time.

At BLOK, corporate social responsibility forms part of our wider sustainability and ESG commitments. We believe responsible business practice includes contributing positively to the communities and creative industries we operate within.

Our approach combines financial contributions with hands-on support, partnering with charities such as Muscular Dystrophy UK and Teenage Cancer Trust, alongside Directors’ Social Sponsorship initiatives. Beyond donations, our team actively supports fundraising through event participation and in-kind contributions, including the provision of prizes for charitable competitions.

BLOK Projects also supports the cultural sector through its ongoing sponsorship of Manchester Art Fair. By providing free installation services, we help artists present their work to a professional standard while supporting local talent and cultural exchange. This partnership reflects our commitment to social value, community engagement, and the responsible use of our skills and resources. Through these initiatives, we aim to generate lasting social impact and ensure our growth is aligned with ethical, sustainable business practices.
